<p>The Pocket Spike + Pro Alu III Shovel Set by Ortovox combines the lightweight Pro Alu III Shovel with an ice pick attachment. The shovel is made of anodised aluminum and can be used both as a classic shovel and in hoe-mode for moving snow efficiently. For this, the blade is mounted on one side of the T-grip. The quick release closes even without the push of a button, shaving vital seconds off life-saving tasks. The shovel can also be used to make a rescue sled. For a better hold, the shovel’s grip is rubberized and can be changed in a flash from right-hand use to left-handed. The handle is telescopic allowing the shovel to compactly be stowed away in any ski pack.</p><p>The Pocket Spike is a forged ice pick that assists in the steep pitch sections on your glacial route. Light and stiff, the pocket spike is made from anodized aluminum, is sturdy though not a stand-alone pick and does not meet the required DIN standard for ice axes and picks.</p>
